Introduction
The creation and production of this website came about after our team grouped together in class to discuss our movie reviews. Immediately we were able to find connections.
The assignment was to choose a movie of any genre we desired, watch it, and write a movie review on it. The catch was, the movie we chose needed to be about college; whether that meant it's plot was about college, or it simply just took place on a college campus. So evidently, that was our first connection. We decided to dig a little deeper into the meanings behind our movies chosen and give our honest assessments on whether the movies truly depicted college life accurately or not.
Colleen created her movie review from the newly released documentary, The Hunting Ground, Georgi and Aralei both created their movie reviews from the popular movie Pitch Perfect, Almas created her movie review from the international film Student of the Year, and Damien created his movie review off of the teen thriller, Scream 2. Each one of our reviews gives a different and diverse view into aspects of college life, and we all chose different approaches in regards to how we discussed our reviews.
Student of the year and pitch perfect mainly focus on the social relationships that take place in the life of a regular college students, including finding the correct group of friends to hang out with. In these two movies certain characters have problems getting along with other students in harmony but when they come together they become legendary strong. The Hunting ground and Scream 2 can be compared well also since they give a horror aspect of college life. Since the Hunting ground and Student of the year also has love relationships going on during their college life, this can be considered as another comparison between how common these college movies are to one another and why this relation is perfect for placing them in one website as a whole. Scream 2 also has one or two romantic relationships shown throughout the movie. All movies have situations that deal with love and relationships that relate to college in someway and this is how our all of our movies tie together for the most part.
